I'm using the CD & it's not fixed. I seem to be able to get it to work on the federal return, after I override the figures, but when I run the STATE check it shows an error and also changes back to the wrong amount on the federal. Our form shows $300 in the space to the left of 12A and that's where I guess TurboTax should show $600 for MFJ. Line 12B shows our contribution of $320. I've tried putting in $300 for the contribution & that doesn't help. (I'm beginning to hate TurboTax. I understand taxes and I can do them faster by hand. Every year I run into some bug that I spend hours on. Why doesn't TurboTax at least, fix a known one like this?) If I can't fix this, I may remove the contributions and then amend, if that works.
It's not fixed as of 2/8/2021.
I'm still having this issue. My desktop software is up-to-date: I just checked. I install on the desktop via download...
Looks like Intuit only partially fixed the issue. When you run Federal Review, it will analyze the return and when you press "Continue" to see your results, it changes Line 12B from $600 to $300 (MFJ). Then when you correct the error during error checking and run Smart Check it now correctly remains at $600. All subsequent runs of Smart Check will leave the value of Line 12b at $600; however, if you go back and make any changes to your return or just review your return, when you re-invoke Federal Review, it changes Line 12B back from $600 to $300 again. (Desktop Software 02/20/22 update)
The 2021 charitable contributions are NOT fixed. TT is showing my message about the same problem from last year's 2020 taxes (done in 2021). There's a problem AGAIN this year.
Today is 02/12/2022.
Like several others, the $600 initially looks to me like it applies correctly after input of deductions, then determining that the standard deduction is what we are going to get.
The issue we see is that as soon as I run the Federal Review in TurboTax, we get an error message on that line 12b, and it gets changed back to $300.
If I change it manually back to $600, the Federal Review step changes it to $300 every time.
When is this going to be fixed? I am ready to file now, but it seems that this issue has somehow been around since at least December. I can't get through the Federal Review step without the issue popping back up.

@Murray1986 The latest word from TurboTax is that they are not going to fix it. The solution is to enter $600 when you get the error in the federal review, then do not repeat the federal review. Or if you do repeat the federal review, change it back to $600 again. See the following FAQ.
My Tax software - Home Deluxe is updated, but it doesn't give the new charitable giving cash deduction credit on my return. I have entered my deductions, but the standard deduction is the one we used because it is greater than the itemized, but we are allowed the deduction even with the standard deduction as per the IRS website. How can this be updated on my return?
There is no TurboTax product called "Home Deluxe." This online community is for TurboTax users. Are you using TurboTax? If not, you should use the support options for the software you are using. We cannot help you with other software.
If you are using TurboTax, it does not put the deduction for charitable contributions on your tax return until you click Continue on the screen that tells you that you are getting the standard deduction. That screen comes several screens after you click "Done with Deductions." Also, some of the summary screens in TurboTax might not show the additional deduction. Look at the actual Form 1040. The deduction for charitable contributions with the standard deduction is on Form 1040 line 12b.
If you need additional help, please clarify what version of TurboTax you are using, and whether it is TurboTax Online or the CD/Download TurboTax software. If you are using the CD/Download TurboTax software, do you have it installed in Windows or on a Mac? Check to make sure that your software has the latest updates.
