Can I remove mortgage interest (since so low & the new requirements for additional paperwork to determine amount to claim is not worth it, continues to ask me for info)?

The form is asking me to enter the information and complete worksheet.  It suggests I complete it before filing.

You can delete the 1098 if you don't have enough deductions to itemize and will be taking the standard deduction. 

Sign in to your online account

Continue working on your return

Click Tax Tools on the left side bar

Click Tools on the drop-down

Click "Delete a form" on the “Tools Center” screen

Scroll down the list and find 1098 then click Delete

Confirm the delete
