as stated above, 2023 TT still does not include an entry area for air source heat pumps. in a prior post I saw you said it goes in the first section of the existing SW but that is false. it is clear that you still have work to complete this section and in fact I think what is there now is just a carry-over from TT 2022 and the energy credits in that year. as it stands the TT 2023 is incomplete and if you don't believe me go the the US Govt website and print 26U.S. Code 25C - energy efficient home improvement credit. to support what I am saying, go the the IRS website and print Form 5695 which shows that this 2023 TT is missing a whole section - Section B lines 25a to line 32

Many federal and state forms are not yet available. Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.
No hurry to e-file since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files until January 29. And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.
The form 5695 isn't ready as it has a predicted availability date in the future. To keep up with changes, please see forms availability here.
Has this been updated yet? I am trying to enter data for my cold climate air source heat pump. If not what is the ETA, and can you email me to let me know when it is ready?

The Form 5695 Residential Energy Credits for tax year 2023 has not yet been finalized in TurboTax.
The Form 5695 is scheduled to be available in TurboTax on 02/07/2024 (subject to change).
Go to his TurboTax website for forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
what the heck, first this update to the energy tax credit was going to be 1/24/24, then it was pushed out to 1/31/2024, now the latest is 2/7/2024. Always blamed on the IRS and that TT can't complete due to the IRS not yet having THEIR rules defined. yikes....
