I have some questions on the tax credit for energy-savings improvements. Last year I remodeled the garage attached to my main residence. I had insulation blown into the garage walls and attic above the garage. I also installed radiant heating in the garage floor. The radiant heating required installing a new hot water heater powered by natural gas in my basement. My understanding is I can claim the cost for the insulation materials but not the labor to install it. Is this correct? Also can I claim any of the cost for the radiant floor heating?

Yes, that is correct that you can claim the insulation your added, but not the cost to install it. You may also possibly claim the natural gas water heater you installed, but not the Radiant Flooring Heat.
