Question about child tax credit

I have a question my only income is cash aid from government I have 4 kids and I want to know if I can claim the child tax credit for my kids. and if I can what documents do I need .

No. In order to claim the Child Tax Credit, you must have earned income from work.

I have a w2 with $5,000 income, but TurboTax said I dont qualify for Additional Child Tax credit because my earned income was less than $2500.
