If you have already entered the itemized deductions in TurboTax, the program will take the higher of the standard deduction or the itemized.
You do not need to exclude them as the program will do this for you.
So if I have not entered any itemised deductions knowing I don't have enough to male a difference where do I tell Turbo Tax not to ask for them ?
@Bobtail
Yes, if you know for a fact that you do not have enough to itemize, you will answer no to the pop up questions about medical, charity, mortgage interest or property taxes; that is items that will trigger a Schedule A.
Oher deductions and credits such as IRA contributions will appear afterwards, so don't disregard the Deductions and Credit section entirely.
