We sold a house in 2016 but didnt see any questions asking about the sale, where do I find those?

What specifically did you sell? Primary residence? 2nd home? Or rental property?

It's reported under the Wages & Income tab in the Less Common Income section. There's a sub-section under that heading titled "Sale of Home (Gain or Loss)"

so I see that I only have to report capital gains on a 500k profit. I came nowhere near that, do I still have to report the sale of the house?

Only if you received a 1099-S reporting any gross proceeds distributed to you. If you received a 1099-S, then the reporting of the sale is required, no matter what.
