Why is my child tax credit not reducing tax I owe?

My tax liability has not been reduced to $0, but it is not including the $500 credit in Tax and credits paid.  Why?

No we don't.

Does that mean it reduced the tax I owe instead of being added to tax I paid/credits?

we owe a large amount - doesn't seem like TurboTax is deducting it

OK, after printing everything I see that it was added to my standard deduction in the end.  On a previous screen, it added it to my tax paid.  Not sure why the inconsistency...
