My wife has an emotional support dog with a prescription/letter from a doctor. Can I claim expenses for the animal under Medical?

Yes, you can.   Based on the IRS publication # 502, Medical and Dental Expense under Guide Dog or Other Service Animal, you will be able to claim your support dog, under medical expenses in Turbo Tax, if he/she provide the support as needed based on a medical prescription.   Please see Turbo Tax FAQ below for more information and for what can be claimed.
