My mom placed her home in trust for estate purposes and I pay the property taxes since I'm living there and supporting her. Can I claim the home as well as any improvements I make on my taxes?

No. Because the property is in trust for her estate, it hasn't been given to you, and your name is not on the property. You cannot deduct the property taxes in this situation. Improvement costs can be maintained and added to the cost basis of the home if you inherit the property in the future. More information is provided below for your review.
