My first and second mortgage were assumed by another company in 2017. How do i continue to ammoritize the points for the 2nd as well as report all interest?

You will continue the same way you have been doing it but the name of the bank will change.  You can edit that when you come to entering your Form 1098(s).  Remember you can "add a lender" for a second mortgage statement.

TurboTax will do the amortization and include the correct amount on your return if you enter the correct starting balance.

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account (online or desktop)
  2. Select the Federal tab 
  3. In the search box, upper right, type refinance mortgage > jump to refinance mortgage
  4. Click the image to enlarge and view for assistance.
