Revisit the foreign tax credit interview. Skip thru to the box 16 entries. On the next screen "Enter Income Detail" change it to U.S. sourced from foreign sourced. That should remove the error.
Either that or ignore the $1 amounts completely unless there an abundance of them.
I am getting this error and have a K-1 with no foreign source income. Can someone specifically tell me how to fix this error so I can e-file taxes. Using TT Deluxe.
@Lescott Go back through your entries and make sure that you haven't entered any information in box 14 (if you have a 1120-S K1) or box 16 (if you have a 1065 K1). That would indicate a schedule K3 is attached and would trigger the program to look for foreign source income.
I have a 1065 K-1. Box 16 is checked and a K-3 is attached. The net income (loss) in Part II of the K3 appears in column f - "sourced by partner". TT does not include this in the foreign sourced income and it is not labeled as such on the form. How should this be handled?
In schedule K-1, box 16 is checked (k-3)
Having the issue here, my attached K-3 only lists a single entity (US) as the foreign country or US possession.
the foreign country or US possession; US IS NOT AVAILABLE TURBO TAX
So, on my schedule K3, part 2, line 24 and fill out the total gross income $1797
Is show US
But on the turbo tax it shows Foreign gross income $1797
does TurboTax plan to add the US to the list and handle those inputs?
OR SHOULD I UNCHECK BOX 16 ON K1? please advice
this year my schedule K-1, box 16 is checked (k-3)

Having the same issue, any answers for this questions?
Having the same issue here. I have box 16 checked for foreign income from CA at the partner level but I have nothing at the individual level. Why is TT not letting me efile because of this. How do I fix it?
