Q. My daughter just turned 14 In August of 2022. Does she still qualify for the child dependent care credit?
A. No.
Actually, she must be under 13 (not 14), so she would not qualify, at all, for 2022.
Had she turn 13, in August, she would have qualified up until her birthday.
No, daughter does not qualify. Your child must be under 13 years of age when you pay for the care. Since your child was not under 13 at any point in 2022. she is not a "qualifying person".
Please see Tax Topic 602 on the IRS website.
