moving expenses
Is the moving expenses only available to the military?
If not, there is a flaw in the software. When you answer no the military question, the software will not allow you to enter the moving expenses. If you answer yes you then have to say you had PCS orders to enter the moving expenses which is not the case if you are not in the military.
Please advise.

Moving expenses are deductible on a federal return for certain active duty members of the military, but not for anyone else. Your state tax laws may be different, so the software lets you enter moving expenses so they can flow to the state return.
