My husband and I had our second child in 2020. We received the most recent stimulus payment before filing for 2020 and therefore did not receive payment for our 2020 baby nor did we receive a tax credit payment for him so far. Do we file any additional forms or do we just wait for the IRS to finish processing our 2020 return?

Hi, Elmundo31,
Unfortunately, the IRS is way behind on processing returns for 2020 as you well know. You should get the stimulus for the baby (Congrats, by the way) when they process your 2020 return with the baby as a dependent. Here is a calendar of when the IRS tools will be ready. You could possibly check there to see if they have added the baby to your tax account. Best thing is to let them process everything first and if they don't get it processed by 2022 tax season, you will still get the full amount then.
