Same here - this error ("amount borrowed this year must be entered") can't be edited, and it keeps popping up when running error check. Right-clicking on the field does not work, even in Forms mode, on a Mac. I REALLY want to file my taxes, and as always, there's some random bug with Turbotax. What are we supposed to do?!?
Yes, There is a known problem with Home Mortgage Deduction. TurboTax is working to fix the problem and the many other issues. There are many changes due to the CARES Act that require software upgrades. We have not been given an expected date for the fix yet. Please check back often to see if you can file your return.
Just a FYI, TurboTax has to work with the IRS when programming software for new or changed deductions. TurboTax cannot correct this problem until the IRS has finalized the forms. Not making an excuse for the IRS but the IRS has been busy with the Stimulus program and is now gearing up in the tax refund and processing area. We do not have a date and are waiting also. Once the forms have been finalized, TurboTax will upgrade software, after all, the systems must be able to communicate to translate the tax information received.
A typo placed real estate taxes of $54,641 instead of the correct amount of$5,464. In edit, typing the correct amount does not change the turbo tax use of the wrong figure. This gives me an erroneous deduction causing an incorrect. refund. Hoe can I get turbotax to accept this correction when typed into the edit.
To correct the amount of real estate taxes:
I made a sizable error entering the amount but am unable to correct it using edit.
