Hi,
My wife and I had our first child in 2019 and did not file our taxes in time for the IRS to provide the stimulus in the first or second rounds of stimulus, though they did include the payment for a dependent child on the third stimulus. Now, when filing taxes for 2020 TurboTax is not giving us the option to claim the missing $1100 and we cannot figure out why (Line 30 of our 1040 is blank.) We are Married filing jointly, no one can claim us as dependents, we are well below the income threshold, and we didn't receive the first ($500) or second ($600) dependent credit. No one else can claim our daughter and we have a SSN for her. Here is a run-down of payments received from the IRS:
Apr. 15, 2020: $2400 (Only my wife and myself)
Jan. 04, 2021: $1200 (Only my wife and myself)
Mar. 17, 2021: $4200 (All three of us)

LOOK at the form 1040 ... is your child listed there and which box is checked ?
Hi @Critter-3 ,
Sorry for the delay in responding. After some fiddling with TurboTax there is now $600.00 in line 30 of my 1040. My child's name appears as a dependent, there is a check mark in the right column (Credit for other dependents). This feels like a step in the right direction, but is not the full $1100.00.
