For the past several of years, TT has included Minnesota Form M1PR - Minnesota Property Tax (Homestead Credit) Refund in their MN state filing process. M1PR is a form that is generally filed later than the MN state tax return due to the timing of receiving Property Tax Statements. In the past, TT allowed me to complete and electronically file my state tax return, and then later (after I receive the Property Tax Statement) go back to complete and file Form M1PR (which isn't due until August 15). For some reason, TT created a new bug in 2024: If you START Form M1PR BEFORE you file you state tax return, you will receive errors and will not be able to file your MN state tax return electronically. In order to electronically file your state tax timely, you will first need to delete M1PR (and any related forms). After you file your MN state tax return electronically, then you can go back to complete and file M1PR.
I also just noticed that MN has created a tool for MN homeowners to file directly online (not through TT): https://www.mndor.state.mn.us/tp/OnlineServices/_/
However, 2024 filing will not be available until March 15 (per website).
