Mileage Deductions

Is it permissible to deduct mileage for a trip that was for purposes of traveling to Ohio from Florida and back to assist my son to move back to Florida.

No. Doing your son a favor is not deductible, although it was a nice thing to do. Even if the move had been your own move----and it was not---the costs of moving are not deductible except for certain active duty members of the military.
