A company I was working for closed it doors. The company that bought the assets also hired on several people. A few of us who worked in the office were told our commute to the new company's office would be temporary, only a week or 2, until the sale went through and they moved headquarters to a piece of property included in the sale that would be much closer to my home.
The sale got tied up in a legal battle and for 116 days from July through December, I had a 144 mile round trip commute 5 days a week for just over 110 days total. Since this longer commute will be ending soon since the sale has finally gone through and the office location is moving closer, is the 20,000 + miles I put on my vehicle deductible?
