Can I claim some sort of deduction for my daughter who I pay medical insurance for? I can no longer claim her on my taxes..

Best answer by xmasbaby0

No.  If she cannot be claimed as your dependent you cannot deduct anything for paying for her insurance.

there is an exception. if she would be a dependent under the qualifying relative rules except that her gross income is over $4300 you can take the medical expenses deduction for the insurance.

Qualifying Relative
1) Live in your household the entire year. Absences for medical treatment are ignored
2) gross income for 2021 less than $4,300
3) you provide over ½ his support
4) isn’t a qualifying child of another taxpayer
