Medical and dental expenses

You must itemize your deductions.  When you start the itemization section among the first questions you will be asked will be to enter you medical expenses.

Your total medical/dental expenses must exceed 10% of your AGI (Line 38) in order to affect your your itemized deduction (7.5% if you or your spouse are over 65).
