Live in GA and worked in SC. I owe back child support. I am due a refund from SC but owe GA. Will the IRS take what I owe GA prior to sending the rest to child support?

The IRS refund will not be applied to GA, but it will be applied to any back child support.

You will need to pay the GA state tax due.
