How do I choose the Installment Plan for sale of property as opposed to paying the full capital gain in 2017.

When you enter the sale and you have a profit the option to use the installment sale will be presented ... what did you sell ?

The option to use installment plan is not presented anywhere that I can see.

I know how to get to the installment sales area.  The problem is that it never ask how I want to treat the capital gain.   It automatically puts all the gain in 2017 instead spreading over the life of the carried contract.

Search for "installment sales" and follow the interview ...

Then you must be doing something wrong ... go back and enter that section again ... watch for this screen ... read each screen carefully.
