Just finished and submitted my federal and state taxes. I am eligible for the Kansas "Property Tax Relief Claim for Seniors and Disabled Veterans" K-40SVR. While going through the prompts it says "Attach the Veterans Affairs Award Letter showing the disability rating" (pic 1). No where does it ever offer the ability to attach this form though. A couple prompts later it says "If you do not electronically file your Kansas return" (pic 2) you will need to print your Kansas return and K-40SVR and mail it in to the state. Going through the entire process it never gives me and option to attach my disability form like it says is needed in the first picture. Since I e-filed my returns I don't want to print and mail in everything and end up creating issues with duplicate filings of this form. It seams like TurboTax missed a step if we are supposed to attach the award letter before e-filing. Or they need to correct how things are worded and clear up if veterans need to mail the award letter in separately. Would also be handy to include how to go about doing that since all the other forms were submitted electronically. Just looking to see if anyone else has worked through this issue.

You have already filed the KS form, including the SVR but need the veteran disability form filed with the state. If you have filed it in a prior year, the form may not be necessary this year.
The state may accept your return or send you a letter asking for a copy of your disability. If you would like to be proactive, you can call
(785) 368-8222 option 4 from 8 am - 4:30 pm CST, Monday - Friday
