If you want to manually switch now, you can do so. Keep in mind, there may be limitations, for example the state and local tax deduction is only $10,000 so be sure to double check that the itemized deduction is actually better when manually switching.
Here's how, from How do I change from the standard deduction to itemized (or vice-versa)?
- "Go to the screen: Based on what you told us, [either Standard Deduction or Itemizing deductions] is right for you, and select Change my deduction. (Instead of using the link, you can also manually navigate to Federal > Deductions & credits > Continue > If applicable, continue through retirement summaries> Now you will arrive at Itemizing/ standard deduction summary screen.)
- On the Which deduction do you want to take this year? popup, you'll see the dollar value of each deduction type.
- Select the type of deduction you want and select Continue twice."
