There has been a 10,000 limit for SALT for several years. SALT is State And Local Tax. Which includes property tax, any state tax paid like for last year’s return and includes any state withholding from your W2s and any 1099s you have. And any taxes in W2 box 14 and 19 like SDI or VDI. You can only deduct up to 10,000 (5,000 MFS) for SALT State and Local Taxes.
Your standard deduction is probably greater than your itemized deduction. TurboTax is probably telling you to use the standard deduction.
There is is SALT limit of $10,000 when entering state/local income taxes or sales taxes, state/local real estate taxes, state/local personal property taxes.

Same problem.
The responses here regarding the SALT limit are correct, but are missing the fact that Turbo Tax says the "Federal Itemized Deduction limit of $10,000" has been met. Not "...The SALT deduction limit..."
Their terminology in wrong, but if you keep going through your other itemized deductions, it calculates it correctly as far as I can see.
Turbo tax needs to update this to not cause confusion by stating their is a $10,000 limit on federal itemized deductions.
