Possibly. If you add up all your receipts for all your purcahses throughout the year, they may add up to more than what's allowed as a "standard" sales tax deduction. However, according to the IRS, the sales tax from your wedding expenses doesn't qualify as a major purchase in addition to your standard sales tax deduction.
Major purchases include:
- A motor vehicle (including a car, motorcycle, motor home, recreational vehicle, sport utility vehicle, truck, van, and off-road vehicle)
- An aircraft or boat
- A home or substantial addition to or major renovation of a home
