Is apple watch deductible as a medical expense as it monitors my heart condition?

Personal items can only be medical expenses to the extent they cost more because of the medical need (plus must have a prescription or doctor's note, etc.)

So, if the Apple Watch came in one version without the heart rate monitor, and you had to pay extra to get the monitor, that extra would be the allowable medical expense.

And even if it was deductible you can only deduct medical over 7.5% of your AGI.  And then all your Itemized Deductions have to be more than the Standard Deduction which is going up for 2018.

For 2018 the standard deduction amounts are:
Single 12,000 + 1,600 for 65 and over or blind
HOH 18,000 + 1,600 for 65 and over or blind
Joint 24,000+ 1,300 for each 65 and over or blind
Married filing Separate 12,000 + 1,600 for 65 and over or blind

I bought  the watch originally as it has the E  fall feature. if I fall ( live alone and rural) I have  1 min to respond and if I dont? It calls  SOS.     I had  a knee replacement later, which  again if I fell post surgery and live alone  rural? no one would hear me.   I then did a study and heart irregularity was detected.  I see medical reasons.  I think anyone who lives alone and over 50? should have one.
