IRS Form 8936 Outdated for 2022

It is now March 2, 2023 and my Windows desktop version of TurboTax says that my 2022 Tesla EV is not qualified for the EV tax credit. I have called TT about every 2 weeks for an update but their front line help desk, although kind and professional, are worthless in explaining why this form is not updated in TurboTax. What is TurboTax doing to resolve this issue??? Is anyone else having this problem?

There are a LOT of new rules around the EV credit that went into effect in August. For one thing, it matters a great deal whether you purchased the car before or after August 16th of 2022. Before, you have to have purchased a vehicle that was not made by a manufacturer who had already sold 200,000 cars in the US. After August 16th, where it was made is very important.

Check the IRS guidance on electric vehicles to make sure you've jumped through all the hoops.

My 2022 Tesla that I purchased brand new and placed in service February 2022, weighs and has a battery charging capacity within the IRS qualification limit. When I select the "Energy-Efficient Vehicles" option in TurboTax, the application responds with "Tesla, Chevrolet, and Cadillac no longer qualify for this credit.". After I complete the screen input (VIN, Model, Date Acquired, etc.) anyway, TurboTax does not provide any credit. Does anyone else have a problem with TurboTax form 8936 for EVs?
