If I contribute to a teacher's back-to-school donation wishlist, is there a way to deduct the cost of those items from my taxes?
This one was a Walmart wishlist, but I expect I'll be donating to Amazon wishlists soon as more teachers start asking for supplies.

Those wish list donations are not tax deductible. To make it deductible you would have to make the donation directly to the school, assuming that it's either a public school or a non-profit private school.

@b-243 - and if you make the donations directly to the school, it would only be tax deductible if you itemized.....
unless Congess passes a new law, if you take the standard deduction, even a cash contribution to the school would not be tax deductible (that $300 deduction from the past two years has yet to be extended into 2022)
