If I am military, do I have to pay to upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe just because I need to file a Foreign Tax Credit?

My 1099-DIV shows $2 in foreign taxes. Due to this, TurboTax is showing I need to submit at 1116 (Foreign Tax Credit). I will not let me submit this unless I upgrade. Is there a way to do it for free?

Don't report the foreign taxes paid and the program will stop trying to upgrade itself for the Foreign Tax Credit.

Either leave Box 7 (Foreign Tax Paid) blank or do not check the box "My form has info in more than just these boxes".

You may have to delete and re-enter the 1099-DIV in order to make the correction. Also, if Form 1116 Foreign Tax Credit has already been created, you will have to delete it as well. See: How do I delete forms in TurboTax Online?
