I recently created a pin using ID.me.
Is this the same pin that TT refers to as the "identity protection pin"?
Per TT, the identity protection pin must be entered to file 2024 taxes.
I was able to logon to the IRS with the pin created using ID.me.
Is this the same pin that TT is asking for?

No, The TurboTax the TurboTax e-filing PIN is 5 digits.

The IP PIN is your identity protection pin and must be entered in the program since you have one. Six digits.
The filing pin is just 5 numbers.

I was referring to the Identify Protection Pin that TT is asking for under Other Tax Situations/Other Return Info,
I now know this is a 6 digit pin issued by the IRS.
I can get the IP PIN for myself, but I am the spouse and my SSN is secondary.
Is that sufficient OR does the primary taxpayer (my husband) also need one to file with the IRS electronically??
Note I am referring to the ability to e-file using TT or directly with the IRS with the spouses (only) IP PIN.

The IP Pin is assigned per individual. It's possible for only one of you to have an IP Pin.
