You can enter your property taxes in a separate section from mortgage interest. Please follow these steps:
- Click on Federal Taxes > Deductions & Credits.
- In the Your Home section, click on the Start/Revisit box next to Property (Real Estate) Taxes. [See Screenshot #1, below.)
- On the screen, Did you pay property or real estate taxes in 2017, click the Yes box.
- Enter the property taxes you paid on the next screen. [Screenshot #2] Do NOT include any taxes you already entered with your mortgage information.
