I need to change my deductions from Itemized to the Standard deduction.

I am Married filing Separately and my wife filed using the standard deduction

You can tell the program to switch to standard.  Follow these steps -

• Log into your account
  
• Click Take Me to My Return Button
• Select Federal Taxes
• Click Deductions and Credits
• Scroll to the bottom and click Wrap Up Tax Breaks
• Program will run an analysis and you might get a few more questions
• You should get to a screen entitled "We've Chosen Itemized Deductions for You" (see screenshot below)
• Underneath there will be a small checkbox that says Change My Deductions
• Click this and you will be able to change to Standard Deduction

The basic steps are the same, except you will click amend/change return instead of take me to my return.  You will get a few screens specific to amending and then a landing table that shows a list of things you can change.  Scroll down to Deductions and Credits and follow the steps above, then finish the amend steps.  The program will walk you through the rest.  You will need to print and mail your amendment and it can take up to 16 weeks to process.
