I misstated our property taxes in 2015 by $4000 as we paid it in both November and January, can I add it to this years?

I misstated our property taxes in 2015 by $4000 as we paid it in both November and January, can I add it to this years?

Property taxes are deductible in the year actually paid.  You cannot add a payment made in 2015 to your 2016 return.  You'd have to file an amended 2015 return.
