I live in Chicago, IL and they bill retroactively for property taxes in 2 bills. The first bill I’ve paid, the second won’t come until June, how to deduct 2nd half?

I am filing taxes for 2024 but don’t half the full amount of my property taxes bill yet, just half of it. I want to ensure I deduct the second half as well

Nope---you cannot use the part you pay in June 2025 on your 2024 tax return.  It goes by when you actually pay the property tax, not by when it was "for."   Enter only the amount of property tax you really paid in 2024 on your 2024 tax return.
