Florida does not tax personal income and never has. A state tax return for Florida has never existed. At best, if you are self-employed or run any other SCH C business then your business might have assets that are subject to the tangibles personal property tax every year. If so, then it's not possible to e-file that form DR-405. You have to print it, sign it and either mail or deliver it to the local property tax assessor's office in the county where the business is registered. If any tangible tax is due, it's paid to the local county property tax appraiser.
We live in Florida. We have no rental or business income. Why is turbo tax asking us to fill out Florida return?
TurboTax is going to ask you about the Florida return on the off chance that you do have a local business or rental property that you haven't told it about yet.
Don't worry about it in your case; just skip the state.
Note that the screenshot was not carried over from the migration last year, but it should be clear when you get there.
