I couldn't e-file with Turbotax because it said my that my Earned Income Credit prevents it to do so (don't know how that's a problem)

I paid manually online my Federal and State taxes through their respective websites.
All the post offices closed, so if I put my files inside a mailbox they'll be postmarked as the 19th. Would I get in trouble for sending the files one day late even if I already paid online (today 18th) what I owed?
Thanks!

It’s not likely that you’ll be in trouble, but it is possible.

You’ve paid your taxes online, which is really the biggest thing, but to be totally safe?  I’d suggest you file an extension through TurboTax.

Even if you’ve dropped your return in the mail to go out tomorrow, this will insure you’re covered.  And it just takes a few minutes.

Please see the TurboTax Help article How do I file an IRS extension (Form 4868)? for guidance on filing your extension.

Thank you.

What's entailed in the "TurboTax extension consent agreement.

Consent to Disclosure
I consent to allow my Intermediate Service Provider, transmitter, or Electronic Return Originator (ERO) to send my return to the IRS and to receive the following information from the IRS: (a) Acknowledgement of receipt or reason for rejection of transmission, and (b) If delayed, reason for any delay in processing the form."

"

Why is that asked?

And do I need separate extensions for state too?

It's your authorization for TurboTax to e-file your extension request on your behalf.

It depends on your state if you need an additional extension.  See State Extensions for more information.
