Do you have any 1099's or K-1's that have foreign taxes paid as this will influence the initial screen presentations?
As you're going through the foreign tax credit interview, on the Choose the Income Type screen, select Passive income. Enter the information on the screens that follow. On the Foreign Tax Paid - Ireland screen, enter No, I have foreign taxes paid on rental, royalty, or other income (including wages). Scroll down to Foreign Taxes on Rents and Royalties and enter your foreign tax.
Both the credit and the deduction are entered in the same place. Here's what you do:
In most cases, taking the credit works out better than the deduction. We'll help you decide which one's best for you when you go through this section.
If you choose to take the credit (most people do), we'll attach Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit if your situation requires it.
Note: You won't be able to take a credit or deduction for taxes paid (or accrued) on excluded foreign earned income or housing. This is because excluded income and housing isn't taxed in the first place.

Hello - Thanks for your reply. My problem is I am not getting to the screen that you have in your screenshot where I can enter a number.
After I select the type as Passive Income, these are the screens I get:
Country Summary (Ireland is there, I hit "Done")
Any foreign source qualified dividends or long term capital gains? (my rental income is pre-populated, so I hit Continue)
Taxes Paid or Accrued (I select "Paid" and hit Continue)
Other Deductions Not Definitely Related (I leave blank , hit Continue)
Investment Interest, Trade or Business Interest, Passive Interest (I leave Blank for each, hit Continue)
Country of Residence (USA is pre-populated, I hit Continue)
Reduction in Foreign Taxes, High Tax Kick-out (I leave blank , hit Continue)
Foreign Tax Credit Carryovers (There are numbers pre-populated for 2020, with the "Amount Used" being $65 less than the "Foreign Taxes")
Foreign Tax Credit Carryover Adjustments (I select No, Continue)
A few more screens then I get to Reporting Foreign Income and Expenses. I select Yes (I'm done) and the next screen is called Foreign Tax Credit , and it says Your Foreign Tax CRedit is $65. Nowhere was I given a screen to enter Tax Paid.
Thanks in advance
