I am trying to add a donation that I made of brand new school supplies and back packs to my area Neighborhood Center. Not sure what category this would be.

I have a receipt and an estimated value but when I try to choose a category for this donation I am not seeing anything that sounds like what I donated.

You would put your new school supplies donation under "Other personal property" at the bottom of the screen. (See the attached screenshot.) Personal property basically means any thing that's not real estate.

If you’ve already entered (or imported) your charitable donations using TurboTax Online, you can review and edit the donations by following these steps.

·         Sign in to your TurboTax Account

·         Click “Continue your return”

·         Click “My Account” located in the blue menu bar towards the top of your screen

·         Select “Tools”

·         Select “Topic Search”

·         Type “donations”

·         TurboTax will automatically navigate to the “Donations to Charity” section

·         On the "Did you make any donations to charity in 2016?" Click Yes

·         Review and/or edit the information as necessary
