No, a cash donation to a qualified charitable organization is not a deduction when you are using the Standard Deduction.

Charitable donations are only entered as an itemized deduction on Schedule A.  The total of All your itemized deduction must be greater than the Standard Deduction for your filing status to have any tax benefit.
