I am a stay at home parent but my daughter goes to preschool 3 hours a day. Can I claim the child and dependent care credit?

The Child and Dependent Care Credit may apply if you pay for child care so you can work or look for work. On a joint tax return, both spouses must be working (although this requirement is waived if one of the spouses is a full-time student or disabled).
