Enter interest paid and real estate taxes under the Deductions & Credits, Your Home section. Type 1098 in the search/find box, then select the ‘Jump to 1098’ link.
Enter the interest that you paid on the new house from form 1098. Continue to the Home Loan Deduction Summary to add another lender for the sold home.
If you did not receive a 1098 form for the sold home, check the box ‘I did not receive a 1098’ and continue to enter interest that you paid thru 1/29/16. Check with your lender if you are unsure of the amounts paid.
Continue and select Done. This will bring you back to the Deduction & Credits where you can enter Property Taxes in the next category.
You will need to add the two amounts together for property taxes for your main home OR separate the prior home amount in the Other Property box.
