How to file form 1042-S in married jointly tax return (J1 visa, nonstudent)?

To whom it may concern,

My wife and I are filling out our taxes on TurboTax. We are Postdoc with J1 visa. My wife has been worked in the US for 3 years and she is a resident alien. I just arrived around 7 months with a one-year fellowship, so I am still at non-resident status. I am filing our taxes as married jointly, but I am not sure how to proceed with my 1042-S form (The income code is 16 & exemption code is 15).

Following previous Q&A,

1) We are filling my 1042-S information in the 1098-T form (Scholarships and Grants).

2) Type the tax withholdings information in estimates paid.

3) Attach form 1042-S in our tax return by mail.

Is that correct?

Thank you so much for any suggestion or advice.

You will not use TurboTax to file your  Form 1042-S as Form 1042-S is not supported by TurboTax.You are not required to file  Form 1042-S  with your tax return.  Instead, you will mail your Form 1042-S to the address specified in the form instructions.
