How to configure Turbotax to reflect I am not covered by retirement plan at work

Prior to the recent Turbotax update, I was able to select that I was not covered by a retirement plan at work by going through "Other Tax Situations", "Retirement Savings", "IRA Calculator Tool". When I first went to that spot, it had the radio button clicked "covered by retirement plan at work". I was able to unclick it. However, when I go to that location in the program, that option is no longer there.  Note, I only want to do this since I don't have any "X's" checked in Box 13 of my former employer's W-2 and I want to get credit for my IRA deduction.  Does anyone know where that option moved to in the program?

How to configure Turbotax to reflect I am not covered by retirement plan at work

When you enter your traditional IRA contribution you should get the question on the "Retirement Plan Coverage?" screen.

 

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account 
  2. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “IRA contributions”
  3. Click on “Jump to IRA contributions"
  4. Select “traditional IRA
  5. Continue until you get the "Retirement Plan Coverage?" screen and select "No"
