How to change child car seat credit

You will need to walk back through the Hawaii State interview process in TurboTax if you need to change your answer for the Child Car Seat Credit.

Follow these steps:

• Login to TurboTax Online and Click "Take Me To My Return"
• Click on the "State" Tab from the left side
• Click "Continue" then "Continue" again next to Hawaii
• Answer and click "Continue" as you walk through the questions
• Eventually, you will get to "Taxes & Credits"
• Continue through the questions until you get to "Child Passenger Restraint Systems (car seat) Credit" and choose Yes or No

I can’t go back to change my child restraint credit

Try going through the Hawaii return again from the beginning until you see that question again.  

Claiming the Child Passenger Restraint Systems Credit is just a yes or no entry.  There is no indication onscreen that your answer has changed, but it will be reflected in your return if you change your answer.

I have gone through the whole tax return but am unable to find the child restraint option to be able to change it.

You will need to walk back through the Hawaii State interview in TurboTax to find the Child Car Seat Credit.

Please follow these steps in TurboTax Online:

1. Sign in to TurboTax and choose continue or Pick up where you left off
2. On the left side bar, choose Your State Returns and then Continue next to Hawaii
3. Walk through the interview questions (there are quite a few) until you come to the screen Child Passenger Restraint Systems (car seat) Credit
4. Choose Yes or No

My apologies, I should have explained better. I am trying to amend my 2023 Hawaii state taxes as I would like to change/remove the child car seat credit. I have gone through all of the tabs especially the "You and Your Family" credits but am unable to locate it. Would you be able to assist? Thank you!!

Once you begin the Amendment process, you should be able to walk through the Hawaii interview as I described above to reach the child restraint credit.  I counted, and the Child Passenger Restraint Systems (car seat) Credit is the 17th screen in the interview.
