How can I delete an item under income and expenses? I sold a home and it came up as both Sale of Business Property and Sale of Home.

Yes, you can delete one of those entries. 

First, you need to decide which one is wrong. If the home you sold was a rental property or if you used your residence as a rental property at some point, then the Sale of a Business Property is the right one to keep. In that case, delete the Home Sale Wks. 

If the home you sold was your personal residence and never used for rental or business purposes, the Sale of Home is the right form to use. In that case delete the Schedule E Worksheet (  ) -- Disposition Report.

If you are using TurboTax Online:

1. From inside the return, scroll down to Tax Tools on the bottom of the left side menu.
2. Select Tools.
3. Click on Delete a form (third on the list at the bottom of the screen).
4. Find the form you need to delete on the list of forms.
5. Click Delete to the right.
6. Confirm your Delete.
7. Click Continue in the lower right. 
8. Click Continue with my return.

If you are using the Desktop version (disc or download):

1. Click Forms toward the upper right corner. 
2. Find the form you need to delete on the list of forms.
3. Highlight it, then click Delete in the lower left corner of the reading pane.
4. Click on Step by Step in the upper right corner to return to the interview.
