Foreign Income Exclusion

I am employed by a foreign company outside of the US and did not receive a W2. I did not earn any money in the US and have spent the entire year outside of the country. I filled out the Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion sheet but when I try to file, it says that I'm not eligible for electronic filing because the Lines 22, 37, 44, 55, 63, and 74 on the 1040 form are blank. Can you please assist?

Foreign Income Exclusion

A tax return without taxable income being entered cannot be e-filed but must be printed and mailed.

Since you have excluded all your Foreign Earned Income from the return, to e-file you need to add some taxable income.  You can enter $1 of interest income so the return can be e-filed.  On a Form 1099-INT enter any name for the Payer and in box 1 of the form enter $1.

Enter 1099-int in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen.  Click on Jump to 1099-int
