Foreign Government Employee - Deducting 401K

I am a green card holder, working in the US as a Foreign Government Employee of France. My company does not issue W2s or income statements. I understand where to enter my wages in TurboTax (Other Income, Foreign Government Employee not subject to FICA).

However, I contribute to a traditional 401K through my employer and am trying to take the deduction, but my wages aren't qualifying as Earned Income. Is there a way around this? Do I just reduce my wages by the amount I  contributed to my 401K?

Yes, you would reduce your wages by the amount of the 401-K contribution. That is how it is reported on a W-2 form, the wages in box 1 are reduced by the amount the employee contributes to their 401-K account.
